Tucked away in Tampa Bay’s Nature Coast, Timber Pines is Florida’s best-kept secret. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, this 55+ community is filled with splendid homes and impressive amenities. Golf enthusiasts have four golf courses to choose from, though non-golfers will find plenty to do here as well. It received the Florida Communities of Excellence awards in the Trendsetter and Communications & Community categories in 2016, while the Timber Pines Community Association of Spring Hill was named Homeowners Association of the Year. The central location of Timber Pines gives residents access to major state and interstate highways. Tampa and St. Petersburg are an hour’s drive to the south, while Orlando is a two-hour drive to the east.

Timber Pines covers 1,485 acres. It was established in 1982 and, as such, the housing stock is relatively new. This fully developed community has over 3,400 residences comprised of single-family homes and attached villas.

The Timber Pines Country Club sits on the highest point of the community. It overlooks the 18th green of the Grand Pines golf course, and the lake and fountain.

The clubhouse has a casual and fine dining menu, so whether you’re in the mood for comfort food or something more refined, you’ll find something to please your palate. An enticing buffet with an omelette station is available. Theme dinners, such as seafood specials and ethnic cuisines, take place from time to time.

The main dining room can accommodate as many as 200 guests. There are two rooms that can be reserved for private events and smaller gatherings.

Residents can go for a dip in the vast outdoor pool or get pampered at the spa.

The Lodge is a casual and laidback alternative to the clubhouse. Here you’ll find an enclosed porch that can be used for group activities. Meeting rooms can be reserved for assemblies, while a full kitchen can be used for meal preparation.

The library has a wide selection of books, along with reliable wi-fi and a flat-screen TV. The ballroom is ideal for dance classes and special events.

The Performance Arts Center (PAC) seats 570 guests. Various community events like charity fashion shows, board meetings and workshops, bingo, and club parties are held here.

Professional performing groups like the Timber Pines Players and the 100 voice Timbertones Chorus have graced the PAC stage. Local acts like the Razz-Ma-Taps, Twirlers Square Dancers, and the community’s Big Band play and rehearse regularly at the theater.

Golfers should check out the Grand Pines, an 18-hole championship course, along with the Hills and Lakes golf courses, both of which are 18-hole executive courses. There’s also the Highlands, a nine-hole par-3 pitch and putting course.

Residents can also visit the Gulf Coast’s gorgeous beaches, which are within driving distance of the community.
